This scripture is trying to assure us that no matter how hard and consistent the enemy will try to hurt us, it will result to null. Why? it because our life is hidden in Christ Jesus and since the enemy cannot hurt Jesus, he will also not be able to harm us. (Colossians 3:3)

I believe the scripture is referring to anyone or anything trying to pluck us out of the Father’s hand or trying to take away our standing with God because in this life we all suffer persecution, loss, hurt etc…but nothing can separate us from the love of God.
